The Full Story About
Murphy's Artistry
I am a local artist with over 20 years of experience in creating unique and captivating artwork. My passion lies in crafting pieces that are both beautiful and affordable, ensuring art is accessible to everyone. I work with various mediums including watercolour, acrylic, textiles and mixed media, blending techniques to produce creations that resonate deeply with my audience. My work often explores the delicate balance between reality and abstraction, inviting viewers to interpret and connect with each piece in their own way. Through my art, I aim to inspire, evoke emotion, and bring a touch of creativity into everyday life.

About me: My name is Natasha Murphy (my pronouns are: she/her) and I am an artist who uses Watercolour and Acrylic paints, mix media and textiles to create artwork that I am super proud of. My paintings are at the convergence of landscape and abstraction. With a diverse range of influences and inspiration, I endeavour to capture the beauty within the ordinary and turn the mundane into the extraordinary.
My artwork has always been personal and something I have only ever done for myself; I have never really considered it a passion project or side hustle. I decided to start sharing my art with the world purely in the hopes to provide some wholesome goodness with strangers, or if I am so lucky, inspire someone else to dream big and share their passion with others!
Location: I have lived in Australia my entire life and am currently based in Melbourne, Victoria. Having said that, I have spent a large portion of my life travelling, both around Australia and overseas, and I draw a lot of my inspiration from the parts of the world that I have been so lucky to see.

Background: I have been honing my art skills since I was young, and was always encouraged to explore my creative side through the use of many different mediums. When I was a teenager, I studied many art topics including studio arts, photography and graphic design. Outside of school I also attended drawing classes on Saturday morning to help develop my skills further. As I grew up, however, life got in the way (as it does) and while I always stayed in touch with my artistic side, it did sit on the back bench for a number of years while I went to university and established a career in allied health. In 2022, I was able to balance my work life and home life and start to rekindle my passion, and Murphy's Artistry was born.
Primary passion: My particular passion lays in Watercolour and Acrylic elemental paintings: Landscape, Seascapes & Starscapes. Nothing recharges my batteries more than being amongst the trees, listening to the sounds of nature while staring up at the night sky to watch the Milky Way float by. Although I now live in the suburbs where natural noises are drowned out by loud cars, the starlit night sky is washed out by city lights, and trees are replaced by concrete structures - I endeavor to bring my "happy places" into life in my art.

Stargazing and soul searching through a paint brush and canvas - My goal is to keep connected with nature through art.
